That’s WBVN.  It’s a photo taken this week while working at our tower site.  It’s the location of our transmitter and the tower/antenna that has, for 34 plus years, shared the Gospel in our area over FM 104.5.  I look at it as an old friend.  As you know, recently we have had our power level affected by some equipment failure (s).  I added that (s) because we have verified that we not only had a power supply failure in the transmitter but also contributing to that issue is a damaged antenna.  That’s the ‘three bays’ hanging on the side of the tower you see in the photograph.  That antenna has served us for over 17 million minutes from January, 1990 until today. Sadly, take a good look at it, because it has to come down and be replaced.  The damage is not repairable and a new antenna must be built, all three bays must be built, for us to return to full power.

We have already ordered the new antenna and it’s on track to be delivered ASAP.  We have been told it will take at least till mid-March for delivery.  We ask for your patience as we and you wait on repairs.  Everything that can be done to get back to full signal strength is being done.  The cooperation we’ve had from manufacturers, engineers, and friends has been terrific and the word ‘grateful’ never seems to leave your hearts each day.

Until  then, we continue to suggest that if you are having trouble getting the signal, try our streaming on our website (wbvn.org)  We had it easy: it’s the first thing you see on our new website.  We have also made our website ‘phone friendly’ with a new look when using you phone to visit the site.  You can use you phone to plug into the media equipment in your car and play 104.5 FM anywhere you travel. On your phone or computer, the broadcast signal is not affected by the damaged antenna.
